Returns & Refunds Policy

Overview

We offer a non-traditional return and refund policy due to the nature of our full case review service. If a refund request is made within 5 business days of ordering AND the order was not expedited, we may be able to refund the majority of your payment, minus any incurred fees from money transfers in both directions. The refund amount will vary depending on the amount of work completed by the doctor at the time of the request. If the request is made later in the process, the amount of the partial refund will decrease based on the doctor’s time and work completed. Please note that once the letter has been written, it is not eligible for a refund, even if you have not yet received it.

If you are unsatisfied with the quality of your opinion letter AND we have been given the opportunity to address your concerns, we offer a refund and returns policy within 30 days of the receipt of your final opinion letter. If after review we conclude that your concerns are warranted, we will do our best to find a resolution. Please note that if 30 days have passed since your purchase, we are unable to offer a refund. Thank you for your understanding.

At times, circumstances beyond our control may prevent us from offering refunds. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, dissatisfaction with a particular finding from the doctor assigned to your case; a lack of acceptance by other parties involved (such as legal representation); the unsuccessful use of your opinion letter in various settings, both inside and outside of the court system; and scheduling issues with your doctor for future depositions or testimony, should you need it. Our team strives to provide the highest level of professional service and we appreciate your understanding in these matters.

Note that certain products are not eligible for returns or refunds. This includes any expedited add-ons as they are designed to speed up the process of a case review, and requires our doctors reprioritizing their schedules accordingly. We cannot offer refunds on expedited services for any reason unless we fail to fulfill our contractual obligations.

Non-refundable items include:

  • Gift cards;
  • Any expedited add-on products, regardless of the timeframe;
  • Excessive records add-on;
  • Additional digital notary services;
  • 2nd opinion recommendations;
  • Specially priced case reviews offered as a means to offer assistance;
  • Any fees paid for depositions and/or testimonies (whether virtual or in-person). Please keep in mind that VMC does not sell or refund these services, as they are contracted directly with your doctor.


If you wish to request a refund, we ask that you reach out to us via email at vmc@stopvetmal.com or by phone at 803-678-9010. Our professional team will be happy to assist you in discussing any issues you may have.

Refunds

We will inform you of the status of your refund request through email. Upon approval, we will send you an email to confirm the refund amount and initiate the refund process.

If your request is approved, your refund will be processed promptly and automatically credited to your original method of payment or credit card within two business days of notification. Please note that the actual time frame for the refund to appear in your account is subject to your specific bank or credit card company and is beyond our control.

Late or missing refunds

If a refund has yet to be received, it is recommended to first check your bank account for any updates. Contacting your credit card company may also be necessary, as it may take some time before the refund is officially posted. Additionally, contacting your bank for processing updates is recommended. It is common for there to be some processing time before a refund is fully posted, often taking 10-14 days. If these steps have been followed and the refund has not yet been received after the allotted time, please contact us at vmc@stopvetmal.com for assistance.

Sale items

We can process refunds for regular priced items only. Unfortunately, sale items are non-refundable.

Disclaimer: VMC does its best to assist you from the beginning of your case until the end. However, we cannot guarantee certain results or success, as there are a number of unknown variables that can come into play that are out of our control. Nor do we ever ask our independent vets to provide a particular finding. We strive for completely unbiased reviews. Taking on a case does not in any way offer any guarantees of success. VMC provides case reviews and opinion letters only. Arrangements for any type of deposition or testimony is done directly with your doctor as it is not a service, we currently provide.

If you are planning to use your letter in a legal setting, please keep in mind that several external factors affect our ability to determine the precise doctor you would need in each circumstance you may want to use your letter. We have no way of knowing all those factors at any stage of your journey, much less the beginning stage when you are ordering a case review. Each attorney is different and has different requirements that they prefer to use in a court setting. We cannot be responsible for an attorney wanting to use your letter or not. Depending on your situation, location, and judge, you may or may not need testimony from a medical professional as well. Though most people can use their letters without any testimony, there are cases where it’s necessary. Thankfully, virtual testimony has become an increasingly popular option. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee that every judge or court location or situation will accept virtual testimony. Nor can we guarantee that your doctor will be available to offer testimony on the date that you are needing it. Ultimately, the decision is yours to determine the risk level you’re willing to take and how you want to use your letter. Please keep in mind that defense attorneys will often attempt to discredit experts, no matter how qualified they are. If you choose to use one of our US vets or international doctors, keep in mind that there is a possibility you may need in-person testimony and make the best informed decision for you. If the vet you choose ends up not fitting your needs, we are happy to provide you with another letter from a different doctor at a reduced rate but again cannot guarantee your success. This would be an added expense for you to consider when pursuing any case review.
